Microformats
Operator
Microformats—little bits of semantic markup that lives symbiotically with the web—are currently useful for programs instead of people. Operator is an experiment in harnessing the power of microformats to provider a richer, more intelligent browsing experience.
Operater combines microformats embedded on Web sites with other web applications to reduce the annoying repetition required to complete your tasks. For example, if you see an event on Upcoming.org, why do you have to manually retype all of that information into Google Calendar; or if you see a photo on Flickr that includes geolocation information, why can’t you simply map that on Google Maps? Why not combine Yahoo! Local to recommend services near places in your address book? There are many more possibilities and permutations. All of these scenarios are possibilities due to microformats, and Operator hopes to explore some of them.
