Jesse James Garrett
President, Adaptive Path
Jesse James Garrett is co-founder and president of Adaptive Path, an experience design firm based in San Francisco. Jesse's tools and concepts have been published in more than a dozen languages, and his book The Elements of User Experience is considered a seminal work on user-centered design. He is internationally recognized as a leading product design thinker and has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and BusinessWeek. Jesse received WIRED Magazine's Rave Award for Technology for coining the term Ajax, igniting a new trend in Web product design.
Joshua Schachter
Founder of del.icio.us; Director of Engineering, Yahoo!
Joshua Schachter, founder of del.icio.us, put web tagging and social bookmarking front and center at Yahoo! when his company was acquired in December 2005. Joshua is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and growth of the del.icio.us platform and user community as part of Yahoo!'s ongoing development of social search tools.
Before founding del.icio.us, Inc. in 2005 (it was originally developed as a personal hobby starting in 2003), Joshua spent 10 years in the financial services industry in New York City, most recently with Morgan Stanley as a quantitative analyst for proprietary trading systems and algorithms.
Joshua graduated in 1996 with B.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
Tariq Krim
Founder and CEO of Netvibes
Tariq Krim is the Founder and CEO of Netvibes, the leading pioneer in super-personalized startpages. He created one of the first online messaging systems in France while attending elementary school. Since then, Tariq's contributions to the Internet have continued on a grander scale, including founding GenerationMP3, France's most popular blog network, and he is consistently recognized as one of the most influential innovators in the European web space. During the dotcom bubble, he was the exclusive overseas correspondent in Silicon Valley for the French newspaper La Tribune.
Tariq holds a degree in Physics from University of Paris VII and a Master's in Telecommunications from ENST (Telecom Paris).
Garrett Camp
Founder & Chief Product Officer of StumbleUpon
Garrett is responsible for StumbleUpon's product design and strategy. He has guided StumbleUpon's design and development since 2001, from inception to over 3.6M members. Garrett completed his Masters in Software Engineering at the University of Calgary, where he researched collaborative systems, evolutionary algorithms and information retrieval. He is also a 2007 recipient of MIT Technology Review's TR35 award.
Brendan Eich
CTO of Mozilla and creator of JavaScript
Brendan directs the overall technology strategy for Mozilla and oversees software architecture and the development roadmap. As a co-founder of Mozilla, he was instrumental in the creation of the Mozilla Foundation and finding and hiring the team that delivered Firefox 1.0. Brendan is the creator of JavaScript and continues to work with bodies like the European Computer Manufacturers Association to drive its growth and adoption. He holds a B.Sc. in math and computer science from Santa Clara University and a M.Sc. in computer science from the University of Illinois. Brendan is married with kids and he enjoys playing the piano.
